Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC

Launched in September 2020, Xiaomi Poco X3 comes packed with a 6.67-inch touchscreen display that has a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels. It is supported by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G processor and has 6GB RAM. The phone runs Android 10 and is packed with a 5160 mAh battery which further supports fast charging.

In terms of camera setup, the rear pack has a 64MP camera, f/1.73 aperture, a 13MP camera/2.2 aperture, a 2MP camera/2.4 aperture, and a 2MP camera with f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera has autofocus while the front has a 20MP selfie camera. The phone runs MIUI 12 which is based on Android 10 and comes with a 64GB inbuilt storage that can be further expanded with a Micro SD card. It is dual-SIM (GSM and GSM) but accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM cards. The dimensions are 165.30×76.80×9.40mm while the weight is 215.00 grams. Xiaomi Poco X3 is found in the shade of Cobalt Blue and Shade Grey. The connectivity options on the phone are Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C,3G, and 4G.

DESIGN

Poco X3 features a new and fresh design out of the bag. In comparison to its predecessor Poco X2, it loses the dual selfie camera and has one that is positioned upfront towards the top of the device. The display is however similar to that of Poco X2 as it attributes a 6.7-inch panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is slightly heavier as it comes with a weight of 215 grams and a dimension of 165.3×76.8×9.4mm. The phone’s back is plastic and comes with a metal band that sits between the glass screen and plastic sides.

The camera housing on the rear side is prominent as that of Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The case has a little lip that extends to meet the housing and is in a circle set up. This feature makes the camera set up to appear more advanced. The device packs a 5160mAh battery and is well balanced despite the heavy size. The device is waterproof and has a loud stereo pair that allows you to listen to podcasts and music while the IR blaster that comes with it allows the device to double up as a headphone jack, sideloaded fingerprint scanner, and universal remote.

DISPLAY

The 6.7-inch display can be compared to that of Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Note 20. The IPS LCD panel has a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels and features a trim punch hole for the front camera placement. The 120Hz refresh rate is what makes the screen to be special. It has 450 nits of brightness and allows you to watch videos in HDR. Samsung S20 Ultra has the same refresh rate and allows the viewing experience to be majestic. The higher refresh rate can be viewed through the app menu and supports wide gamut color and 1080p Netflix Streaming.

There is also a 240Hz ultra –high touch sampling rate that gives you an edge in the gaming arena, instant feedback, and snappy feeling once one is gaming. The screen is more than just a screen as it is also smart and optimizes power saving. As the screen is in motion, it can maintain a 50Hz refresh rate that instantly reduces the frequency to lower power consumption. Jumping between apps also allows the screen to adapt and provides a smoother experience.

CAMERA

Poco X3 NFC comes with four rear cameras that have been placed in a beautiful rounded off a rectangle and hold the LED flash. The main camera comes with a 64MP Sony IMX682 sensor, there is a second 13MP camera which has an ultra-wide sensor and 119-degree field of view, while the other 2MP dual cameras are used for depth and macro photos and give out Portrait images with a blur. The front hosts a single 20MP selfie camera and can be used to capture amazing shots. The camera app is easy to use and contains multiple shooting modes that can be chosen from. One gets quick toggles for HDR and AI that allows you to take control over from the device as you shoot. Added features include Vlog mode which adds background music during shooting thus saving editing time.

Photos shot by the 64MP main camera take 16MP photos by default and provide great detail even at a distance. Close-ups are also taken nicely and good separation from the subject and background are maintained.

PERFORMANCE AND BIOMETRICS

Poco X3 NFC has an excellent gaming performance thanks to the Snapdragon 732G processor. The processor also brags about strong graphics processing capacities and advanced AI computing technology. It utilizes an 8nm processing technology which combines with an octa-core chip to attain a clock speed of 2.3GHZ. The processor is positioned as the leading 4G processor in 2020 and has an AnTuTu score of over 301,000 which makes it to have a stronger performance than that of Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G which featured in high profiled phones such as Galaxy M31. The device is quick to load games and apps and can multitask very easily. The Biometric features found on Poco x3 include a fingerprint sensor and facial recognition. The side-mounted fingerprint is quick to respond while facial recognition simply requires a glance to unlock the device.

BATTERY AND STORAGE

Users will get a massive battery that comes with an affordable phone altogether with the Poco X3’s 5160mAh battery. The battery supports 33W charging and allows longevity of up to 2 days with average use. The battery can be closely compared to the like of the 5040mAh battery found in Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 which slightly falls short of it. The storage space stands at 6GB RAM and 64GB thus enabling you to have sufficient storage space. However, it can be further expanded with a MicroSD card of up to 128GB RAM.
